About Us
Chicago Community Parent Advisory Board (CPAB) is a Chicago-based, parent-led advocacy collective committed to supporting individuals and families impacted by institutional violence, systemic harm, and community trauma.
Rooted in lived experience and community voice, our work centers parents and caregivers as essential leaders in the protection, healing, and empowerment of children and youth.
The Chicago Parent Advisory Board (CPAB) was formed in response to the growing need for safe, accountable systems within schools and community institutions—particularly for families navigating bullying, harassment, neglect, and trauma. We believe that parents deserve clear pathways to advocate for their children, access to trauma-informed resources, and collective support when systems fail to protect those most vulnerable.
CPAB, advances youth safety and institutional accountability through education, peer support, strategic advocacy, and public-facing engagement. Our approach combines community organizing with thoughtful public relations and advocacy strategies to amplify parent voices, promote transparency, and drive meaningful change within schools and community systems across Chicago.
At our core, CPAB is guided by the belief that healing and accountability must exist together. We work to create spaces where families feel seen, heard, and supported—while also pushing institutions to uphold their responsibility to protect, respond, and repair harm.

Our mission
The Chicago Parent Advisory Board (CPAB) is a parent-led, community-rooted collective dedicated to advancing youth safety, family advocacy, and institutional accountability across Chicago. CPAB supports parents and caregivers through education, peer support, trauma-informed resources, and advocacy tools that strengthen family voice, promote healing, and ensure schools and community systems uphold their responsibility to protect and support children.
We believe informed parents are essential to safe schools, accountable systems, and thriving communities.

What makes us different
Parent-Led, Not Program-Led
CPAB is built and led by parents and caregivers with lived experience navigating institutional harm. Our work is shaped by real families, real systems, and real consequences—not top-down frameworks or performative solutions.
Healing-Centered and Accountability-Driven
We believe healing and accountability must coexist. While we create supportive, trauma-informed spaces for families, we also push institutions to acknowledge harm, respond appropriately, and change practices that endanger youth and families.
Grounded in Lived Experience Our advocacy is informed by firsthand experiences with school systems, community institutions, and public agencies. This grounding allows us to offer practical guidance, culturally responsive support, and advocacy strategies that reflect the realities families face.
Strategic Advocacy & Public Engagement
CPAB.Solutions blends community advocacy with strategic public relations to amplify parent voices, elevate community narratives, and hold institutions publicly accountable. We help families move from silence and isolation to collective visibility and action.
Community-Rooted, System-Focused
While our work is rooted in Chicago communities, our focus extends beyond individual cases. We identify patterns, address systemic failures, and advocate for structural changes that improve safety and accountability across institutions.
Support Without Punishment
We approach families with care, dignity, and non-judgment. CPAB.Solutions supports parents without shaming, blaming, or retraumatizing—meeting families where they are and walking alongside them through advocacy and healing.
